Are you an experienced Electronic & Electrical Engineer with a passion for problem-solving and innovation in a fast-paced manufacturing environment? Our client, a market leader in the production of highly advanced training technology for military and law enforcement professionals, is expanding its Maintenance Department. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on cutting-edge systems that contribute directly to mission-critical training outcomes.

About the Role

This hands-on role will see you supporting production and facility demands across the business, with the chance to grow professionally as the company continues to scale. You’ll be part of a skilled team, but expected to work independently and proactively, identifying and solving technical challenges with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and upgrade electrical and electronic control systems and production machinery.
  • Provide rapid response to equipment breakdowns using fault-finding techniques and diagnostic tools.
  • Program and update PLCs (Allen Bradley and Mitsubishi experience highly advantageous).
  • Replace outdated systems to ensure operational consistency, reliability, and compliance.
  • Support planned maintenance and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
  • Document maintenance activity using internal software and ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with production teams to maintain and improve performance targets.
  • Supervise or liaise with service engineers and contractors when required.

What We’re Looking For

Essential Experience and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a production support or manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills (electrical/electronic).
  • Level 3 qualification (City & Guilds, BTEC ONC, or equivalent) in Electrical, Electronic, or related Engineering field.
  • Sound understanding of PLCs, control systems, variable frequency drives, 3-phase motors, and basic instrumentation.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with both internal and external stakeholders.

Desirable Skills & Qualifications:

  • 10 years' experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Level 4/5 qualifications (HNC/HND/Degree) in Electrical, Electronic or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • Advanced knowledge of automation, servo drives, and vibration feed systems.
  • Experience designing/modifying control panels and electrical safety systems.
  • Familiarity with electrical CAD software (AutoCAD, EPlan, Edraw etc.)
