We are working exclusively with one of the world's leading cruise operators to recruit an exceptional Director of Refits & Strategic Projects to join their UK Maritime division. This is a senior leadership role offering the opportunity to shape the future of a prestigious fleet through strategic asset management and complex project delivery.
The Role
As Director, you'll be accountable for planning, executing and delivering comprehensive refit programmes and strategic projects across a world-class cruise fleet. You'll manage multi-million pound budgets while ensuring vessels remain fully compliant with international maritime regulations and exceed guest expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the rolling refit planning programme across multiple premium cruise brands
- Manage strategic dry dock locations globally, ensuring optimal facilities and compliance
- Oversee project budgets up to £100M with full financial accountability
- Collaborate with international teams across Technology, Hotel Facilities and Maritime divisions
- Ensure compliance with SOLAS, IMO, Class and Flag State regulations
- Direct and develop a skilled technical team including Senior Managers and Superintendents
- Manage complex stakeholder relationships across onboard and shore-based teams
What We’re Looking For
Essential Requirements:
- Proven experience in dry dock and maritime operational environments
- Track record managing large-scale projects with budgets up to £100M
- Deep understanding of Flag State, USCG and IMO regulations
- Professional qualification in marine or technical discipline
- Degree/HND/HNC in marine or technical field
- Strong commercial awareness and budget management experience
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and maintenance databases
Desirable:
- Sea time experience across marine environments
- Certificate of Competency (Marine)
- USPH training
- IOSH Managing Safely certification
- Project Management qualifications
