The Role:
The successful applicant will be responsible for supervising and managing all production activities and personnel during shift in a milk powder processing plant. This key role ensures smooth operations, adherence to quality and safety standards, and efficient resource utilization. Additional key responsibilities will include (not limited to):
- Production Management: Oversee daily production activities to ensure adherence to production schedules.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and product quality standards (e.g., FSSC, GMP, HACCP).
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure all employees follow safety procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and waste reduction.
- Reporting & Documentation: Oversee the accurate completion of production records.
The Person:
To be successful in this role applicants shall require:
- A 3rd level qualification in Food Science, Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent subject.
- Possess a minimum of 5 years’ experience working within food manufacturing or dairy processing with 2 of these in a Supervisory or Leadership capacity.
- Strong leadership, team management and communication skills.
- Familiarity with quality management systems.
- Proficiency in using manufacturing software (SCADA etc).
- Certification in HACCP, GMP and/or experience from within a powder plant operation would be advantageous.
Please note: This role operates on a 4 on 4 off 12 hour shift pattern including night shift 6am – 6pm and 6pm – 6am.
