Job Details

Pathology Department, Ninewells Hospital, Dundee – Clerical Officer, Band 3 (Fixed term/Secondment until 30 September 2026). Full‑time, 37 hours per week. The successful applicant will be required to produce pathology reports from digital files and handwritten notes, carry out other clerical duties and work in the Archive stores filing paraffin blocks and stained glass slides.

Responsibilities

  • Produce pathology reports from digital files and handwritten notes.
  • Carry out clerical duties within the Pathology Department.
  • Work in the Archive stores filing paraffin blocks and stained glass slides.
  • Comply with the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland throughout employment.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Excellent keyboard skills and experience of Microsoft Word packages.
  • Good interpersonal and organisational skills, a professional attitude and ability to work as part of a team.
  • NVQ level 3/RSA 3 in office/clerical practice or equivalent level of experience within an office environment.
