Cleaning Operative

We are currently recruiting for a Cleaning Operative based at St Johns Ambulance – Kendal.

Pay rate: £12.60 per hour.

Working patterns:

Monday, Wednesday & Thursday – 6am to 8am. Working 6 hours per week.

Key Accountabilities:

• Maintain an allocated building or area within a building to a high cleaning standard, ensuring customer satisfaction through quality service as specified in the contract.
• Empty waste bins or similar receptacles and transport waste to designated collection points.
• Sweep floors with brushes or dust control mops.
• Mop floors with wet or damp mops.
• Suction clean carpeted areas and spot clean carpets.
• Use electrically powered scrubbing/polishing machines to burnish, scrub, polish, and spray clean floors (after proper instruction and training).
• Dust, damp wipe, wash, or polish furniture, ledges, windowsills, external surfaces of cupboards, radiators, shelves, and fitments.
• Replenish consumable items such as soap, toilet rolls, and paper towels as required.
• Clean toilets, urinals, hand basins, sinks, and drinking fountains.
• Use chemical agents as directed, following proper instruction and training.
• Perform wall washing or inside window cleaning to a height no greater than body height plus an arm’s extension during periodic cleaning.
• Carry out any other reasonable duties within the scope of the role.
• Maintain confidentiality and observe data protection guidelines where appropriate.
• Perform any additional duties as required by management that are relevant to the role.
