Are you a qualified Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs? Protocol Education is working with a range of supportive and inclusive SEND schools in the Gateshead area who are seeking Level 3 qualified Teaching Assistants to join their teams. These roles involve supporting pupils with a variety of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, and communication difficulties.
The Role:
- Support students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups to meet individual targets.
- Work collaboratively with class teachers and SENCOs to deliver personalised learning plans.
- Help manage behaviour and promote engagement using de-escalation strategies.
- Assist pupils with personal care if required.
- Maintain a positive, nurturing learning environment.
Requirements:
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) – essential
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEND (in schools or alternative settings)
- Confidence in working with challenging behaviour and using positive behaviour support strategies
- A calm, caring, and flexible approach
- A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
