About the Company:

Our client are a global leader in delivering innovative and sustainable solutions on a worldwide basis across multiple consumer related markets.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and highly experienced General Manager to lead and manage one of our clients flagship sites. This is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of site performance — from operations, safety, and quality, through to commercial performance and P&L accountability. The ideal candidate will be a proven operational leader with a deep understanding of manufacturing environments, coupled with strong commercial acumen and a strategic mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Full P&L responsibility for the site, ensuring financial performance meets or exceeds targets
  • Lead, develop and inspire a multi-functional leadership team across production, engineering, supply chain, quality, HSE, HR, and commercial functions
  • Drive operational excellence and efficiency through Lean/CI methodologies and data-driven decision-making
  • Champion a high-performance culture focused on safety, quality, customer satisfaction, and employee engagement
  • Work closely with commercial teams to support key customer relationships and identify opportunities for growth and margin improvement
  • Develop and implement strategic plans in line with the broader business objectives
  • Ensure full compliance with regulatory, environmental, and corporate standards
  • Report regularly to executive leadership, providing insights on performance, opportunities, and risks

Candidate Profile:

  • Proven track record in a senior operational leadership role within manufacturing, ideally within the packaging or a related process-driven industry
  • Strong understanding and hands-on experience of managing P&L in a complex, high-turnover environment
  • Commercially astute with the ability to align operational execution with business strategy
  • Exceptional leadership skills with a collaborative and empowering management style
  • Deep knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma or similar continuous improvement methodologies
  • Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management abilities
  • Degree qualified in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or a related discipline (MBA advantageous)
