Join our community. As our team is expanding, we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Internal Governance Specialist to join us. In this high-profile role, you will be part of the Santander UK Corporate Governance Office and will provide high quality governance support to the Santander UK Board, its committees and the business.
You'll use a variety of skills including regulatory and statutory compliance, ensuring governance best practices are applied throughout the Santander UK group. You'll play a critical role in maintaining and promoting high standards of governance.

The difference you'll make:
- Providing high quality governance advisory support to the Santander UK Board, its committees and the business
- Advising on corporate and internal governance, including the Listing rules, DTRs, MAR, UK Corporate Governance Code
- Contributing to the annual report and financial statements programme as well as new business and legislative developments/projects
- Working with senior management and Board members as well as learn about governance and the business across the Santander Group
What you'll bring: These are the essential requirements you need to be successful in this role:
- Qualified as a Chartered Secretary, Lawyer, relevant professional qualification or possessing a relevant level and length of work experience preferably in Financial Services
- Extensive company secretarial corporate governance experience gained within listed company or within a Financial Service company
It would also be nice for you to have:
- Good working knowledge of key sections of Companies Act 2006, the Corporate Governance Code, PRA/FCA governance, listing rules
- Experience of working in a regulated environment, ideally Financial Services
- Effective organisational, planning, and time management skills, with meticulous attention to detail
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with the confidence to present to senior executives and board members
What else you need to know:
This permanent role is based in Unity Place - Milton Keynes however depending on business needs you may be required to work from our London Triton Square office.
We want our people to thrive at work and home, and also be able to deliver the best outcomes for our customers and to help each other develop. To support this, we offer site-based contracts with a hybrid working pattern and our expected level of attendance in an office is at least 12 days per month (pro-rata for part-time roles).

How we'll reward you:
As well as a competitive salary, you'll enjoy a benefits package that you can tailor to your needs. Eligible for a discretionary performance-related annual bonus. We put 8% of salary into your pension, even if you don't contribute yourself. We'll pay in up to 12.5% of salary, if you contribute as well, and you can take some of our contribution in cash if you prefer. 30 days' holiday plus bank holidays, which increases to 31 days after 5yrs service, with the option to purchase up to 5 contractual days per year. £6,000 car allowance per year.
