Barnsley Children’s Services are seeking an experienced Advanced Social Work Practitioner to join our Children with Disabilities team in a pivotal non-case holding role. You will work alongside the Designated Social Care Officer to lead on key service developments, co-production with families and young people, and the co-creation of the new Barnsley Short Breaks Team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate across social care, SEND, health, and education partners
  • Support and deliver training
  • Lead co-production initiatives with parents/carers and children
  • Drive improvement projects in a tight timeframe
  • Provide leadership support to colleagues (supervision experience desirable)

Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Social Worker (degree-level or equivalent)
  • Extensive experience in children's safeguarding services
  • Experience supporting children with disabilities in a senior or advanced role
  • Working knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and education law
  • Confident in multi-agency working and project management
  • Passionate, proactive, and driven
