We are seeking a dedicated and hands-on Waste Site Supervisor. This role involves daily travel to the Council’s Recycling and Household Waste Sites (RHWS) and Waste Transfer Stations (WTS).
Key Responsibilities:
- HR Tasks: Support onboarding, conduct one-to-ones, manage return-to-work processes, and handle low-level policy discussions.
- Training Delivery: Provide training through workbooks and e-learning, develop and deliver toolbox talks, and safety briefings.
- Safety Monitoring: Enforce safe systems of work and risk assessments for all site operations.
- Record Keeping: Ensure accurate records for waste movements and maintain the Quality Management System.
- PPE Management: Issue, monitor, and record PPE and uniforms for staff.
- Customer Interaction: Handle low-level complaints from customers in person, by phone, and via email.
- Driving Duties: Occasionally drive a Council 3.5 tonne box van.
Requirements:
- Strong supervisory skills with a hands-on approach.
- Excellent communication and training delivery abilities.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Ability to manage records and enforce quality management systems.
- Valid driving licence.
