The Company My client is seeking a motivated Buyer to join the growing team. The Role Responsible for the timely order placement, supply and expedition of raw materials, assemblies, and support services to maintain production. Managing select suppliers to ensure on time delivery while managing inventory levels to prevent shortages and maximize turns. Liaising with Engineering, Planning, Sales, and Manufacturing disciplines (team approach), highly focussed on environmental and ethical trading considerations. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and distribute weekly expedite reports to designated supply chain partners, ensuring timely responses and accurate data entry into the company ERP system. Analyse exception messages from the ERP system and place purchase orders, ensuring cost-effective and timely delivery. Prepare electronic document packs, including drawings, BOMs, and Gerber files, to support custom part orders for submission to supply chain partners. Manage selected suppliers to maintain inventory control and ensure the timely flow of materials. Develop a comprehensive understanding of commodities and the associated supplier base. Attain a thorough working knowledge of the required ERP system. Propose and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
