We are a Specialist Heavy Haulage Company based in Stockport established in 1950. We are looking for a reliable and experienced Transport Manager to join our specialist team. Previous experience within a similar role is a necessity.
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring that all vehicles in the fleet are regularly maintained and roadworthy.
- Performing regular vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Assigning and overseeing vehicle repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Ensuring that all drivers are properly trained and qualified.
- Maintaining accurate records for each vehicle and the cargo transported.
- Overseeing the planning and scheduling of routes to optimise efficiency and meet delivery deadlines.
- Monitoring transportation costs and finding ways to reduce expenses.
- Managing all aspects of the O Licence including legal compliance, tachograph rules and driver infringements.
- Dealing with driver disciplinaries where necessary.
- Ensuring all transport and health and safety requirements are met.
- Managing all levels of fleet maintenance and scheduling repairs when necessary.
- Booking in Transport and Admin.
Requirements:
- Experience within a similar role is essential.
- International Transport Management CPC.
