An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Bookkeeper to work within an established team and a busy environment, centrally located at our Dock Road Office. This is a fully office based role.
The successful candidate will have experience in a similar Buyer / Purchasing role and be looking to join a growing organisation for the next step in their career. You will be responsible for recording and processing daily financial transactions, updating the sales & purchase ledgers, and preparing Monthly Management Accounts. Maintain and file requisite documents for taxation compliance.
Experience and Qualifications:- 5 years experience in a Purchasing Manager or Similar role - Required
- Experience with Sage Line 200 - Desirable
- CIPS qualification - Desirable
- Maintaining records of financial transactions by posting and verifying supplier and customer invoices
- Implementing bookkeeping policies and procedures
- Daily bank reconciliation
- Preparing and submitting monthly and quarterly VAT returns
- Reconciling entries to balance customer & supplier accounts
- Maintaining a balanced general ledger
- Preparing monthly management accounts
- Preparing financial reports by analysing and summarising accounts information
- Monitoring and reporting on variances against the plan
- Advising management on financial and taxation compliance
- Assisting with other financial activities such as running payroll
- Professional finance qualification such as AAT
- Previous bookkeeping experience preferred
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Understanding of accounting standards and UK GAAP and accounting processes
- Intermediate/advanced Microsoft Excel and extensive experience of Sage 200 transactions and reporting
