Our client, an established and respected investment firm, is looking to hire a talented and driven financials credit investment professional to join their exceptional investment team in London. This is an outstanding opportunity to become part of a collaborative and high-performing investment team with a prominent track record.

As the firm continues to expand its footprint in the financials credit space, they are seeking an individual with robust sector knowledge and a passion for investing in financial institutions' debt. You will play a pivotal role in generating and executing investment ideas while working alongside some of the most experienced professionals in the industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Source, analyse, and invest across the capital structure of financial institutions, including AT1s, RT1s, LT2s, senior unsecured, and covered bonds
  • Conduct in-depth sector research and demonstrate strong coverage across banks, insurers, REITs, debt collectors, and specialty finance
  • Evaluate and pursue investment opportunities in both the primary and secondary markets, leveraging market insight and fundamental analysis
  • Develop and refine trading (trade construction and execution) and relative value skillsets
  • Monitor key macro and regulatory developments across jurisdictions and assess their impact on credit profiles and relative value
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the firm's financials-focused credit platform, bringing a strategic, entrepreneurial mindset to idea generation and execution
Candidate Profile:
  • Ideally mid-level (Associate or Vice President level) experience on either the buy-side or sell-side, with a proven background in credit investing, credit desk analysis, credit research publishing, or credit trading within the financials credit space
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks affecting financial institutions across Europe and globally
  • Skilled in building and maintaining financial models, conducting fundamental and relative value analysis, and articulating investment theses clearly
  • Experience in trading or interacting with trading desks is highly advantageous
  • Self-starter with high intellectual curiosity, strong communication skills, and a collaborative attitude
