Gemporia began in 2004 and we are a British live television and online jewellery retailer sourcing gemstones across the globe. We have an exciting opportunity for a Buyer within the Jewellery team. This role will work closely alongside our other Buyer and Junior Trainee Buyer to drive forward the category with a particular focus on developing product ranges, placing orders & managing supplier relationships.
As a Buyer you will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Managing the buying process for your categories, including product development & range selection, maintaining the critical path, monitor and product inventory to identify opportunities to reduce current gemstones with high stock holding.
- Reviewing sales performance to understand key sales, profit and margin drivers.
- Communicating with suppliers to negotiate best pricing to achieve target margins and deliver commercial & competitive product ranges.
- Work closely with CRTPL and their Merchandising team to ensure orders are processed accurately and products are delivered on time.
- Driving strong relationships with internal teams to deliver category objectives.
- Develop a thorough working knowledge of the in-house system and ensure accurate data entry.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Buyer to join a fast paced team, candidates should have a proven track record of experience within a buying environment. Jewellery experience would be advantageous but not compulsory. A commercial & creative mindset with a passion for product and an understanding of the retail buying function are key. Our studios/office is based in Redditch, Worcestershire, B98 9HF - you must be comfortable commuting to our location.
