As Conference & Events Manager at Bristol City Hall and Create Centre, you will play a vital role in ensuring that every event - from weddings and client functions to small meetings - is executed flawlessly. You will oversee a fast-paced and quality-driven C&E operation, delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring every guest experience exceeds expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overall Responsibility: Oversee the delivery of high-quality service within a fast-paced Conference & Events operation, focusing on key areas such as weddings, client events, and small meetings.
- Team Leadership: Lead and manage a large, dynamic team, ensuring effective training, development, and upskilling. Promote personal growth and look for opportunities to develop team members through Personal Development Plans (PDP).
- Resource Management: Compile rotas in line with business needs and budget requirements, ensuring the team is neither over nor understaffed.
- Customer Feedback & Action Plans: Manage the customer feedback forum, addressing issues, and implementing action plans for continuous improvement.
- Event Delivery: Ensure all Conference & Events bookings are delivered seamlessly, upselling additional services when appropriate and understanding each client's unique requirements.
Who You Are:

- Have knowledge and experience in the events and hospitality industry, with a solid understanding of C&E operations.
- Possess previous team management experience, demonstrating your ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team to deliver results.
- Be highly organised with exceptional people management and communication skills.
- Be flexible and adaptable to working hours, with the ability to work in a pressurised environment and multitask effectively.
- Have a solid understanding of P&L accounts and experience managing budgets within a business context.
