This is a great opportunity for an entry-level or graduate candidate to gain valuable industry exposure, enhance their skills and progress within the life-sciences industry. We are looking for a Field Service Technician to join our team. Full training provided.
Our mission is to provide customers with the best possible experience when performing preventative maintenance, service, repairs and calibration of all types of pipettes. This role utilizes your ability to troubleshoot and provides an opportunity for continuous learning.
Your Qualifications
- GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
About You
- You will need good communication skills - both written and verbal
- Be able to travel and spend time away from home
- You must be confident to work both independently and in a team environment
Responsibilities
- Visit customer sites such as university, government, and industry laboratories to perform calibration, maintenance and repair on customer’s pipettes
- Use computer software to track all service activities
- Read and interpret technical diagrams of pipettes
- Ensure conformance with established calibration and repair standards
- Use small, handheld tools to perform maintenance, repair, adjustment, and calibration
- Communicate with customers regarding the status of their order/pipettes in person, via phone or email
- Utilize problem solving skills to work with pipettes and troubleshoot any potential issues effectively
- Determine customer’s service needs, coordinate accordingly
Competencies / Skills
- Good IT skills (Outlook, Excel, MS Teams)
- Mechanically inclined, good manual dexterity
- Quick thinker with problem-solving abilities
- Good organisational skills and ability to manage a busy schedule with relative independence
- Ability to lift up to 25kg
- Previous lab experience beneficial
Other
- Must have a valid driver's licence and good driving record
- Must speak English clearly and fluently
- Regular attendance and punctuality
- Overnight travel may be required, up to 50%
- Ability to acquire new skills and accommodate change in the workplace
