Do you have excellent Electrical fault finding skills on equipment? Rolling Stock Experienced? Ex forces? We are looking for Rolling Stock Electrical Technicians to join one of our key rail clients based in Leicester on a permanent basis. The individual will be working with state-of-the-art locomotives and will be an integral part of the team. This role will require travel as part of the commissioning phase of the locomotives.

This role has a salary of £56,106pa (with shift allowance) rising to £59,612pa (with shift allowance) after completing competencies. The role is working shifts covering 24/7 including possible nights, 36 hours a week.

The individual will need to have great electrical experience and be excellent at fault finding, ideally on systems and sub-systems. Rolling Stock experience is desirable but not essential as transferable industries will be considered such as RAF, REME, Navy, Army, FMCG, Oil & Gas, Renewables, etc.

This is an electrical bias role and candidates will be required to pass an electrical fault finding assessment as part of the recruitment process.

Your Tasks:

  • Undertake fault finding and identify the associated repair required.
  • Provide support across the business for all condition monitoring and manually monitored systems on the train and its interfaces.
  • Provide assistance and technical feedback to the RAMS / Performance Engineer and depot production teams on technical incidents.
  • Provide leadership and supervision to production teams as required.
  • Act as systems specialists (systems to be distributed throughout the team).
  • Perform functional system tests on mechanical, electrical, electronic and software systems and perform specific measurements as prescribed/required.

Your Profile:

  • Essential: Served a recognised apprenticeship to minimum City and Guilds/BTEC level with Mechanical/Electrical/Electronic bias Level 3.
  • Extensive professional engineering experience in maintenance.
  • Knowledge and experience in modern technical systems and fault finding techniques and the interaction between these, conducting and leading complex root cause investigations and reading electrical/mechanical schematics competently.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems.
