The Role
Following a strategic refresh, Estates Intelligence has rebranded its client-facing services into a compelling market proposition. To drive future growth, we are seeking a Business Development Manager to identify new opportunities, lead framework and tender bids, strengthen key relationships, and secure new business.
KBR's Estates Intelligence is a leading force in public sector FM Assurance, providing cutting-edge technical platforms and professional services. We support central government and specialist departmental estates in effectively managing their portfolios and supply chains.
Location
This role offers a hybrid working setup, combining office-based work at either our Leatherhead or Swindon location, regular client visits primarily in London, and the flexibility to work from home.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue business opportunities aligned with our BD strategy and priority sectors.
- Conduct market research and analyse trends to inform growth strategies.
- Initiate client engagement, understand their needs, and align solutions from the VIAverse service catalogue.
- Effectively communicate technical concepts and solutions to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring clarity and impact.
- Work closely with subject matter experts to develop tailored proposals.
- Oversee the transition of secured business opportunities to operational teams.
- Establish strong relationships with critical stakeholders, developing engagement methods and leads.
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on Estates Intelligence methodology and technology, effectively representing KBR externally.
- Leverage deep technical understanding to position Estates Intelligence offerings as market-leading solutions.
- Confidently engage in technical discussions, translating complex ideas into clear, compelling business cases that drive client adoption.
- Build and maintain a robust network across clients and partners, proactively identifying growth opportunities.
Reporting & Accountability
The Business Development Manager reports to the Real Estates Director and is responsible for:
- Developing the business development strategy, identifying markets, stakeholders, frameworks, and initiatives.
- Establishing and nurturing a strong stakeholder network through personal connections and initiatives.
- Providing insights into market trends and competitor activity within the FM Assurance sector.
- Positioning KBR's Estates Intelligence team ahead of tender opportunities and actively tracking leads.
- Converting opportunities into successful contract wins and driving overall team growth.
- Drafting compelling sales materials and supporting marketing efforts as needed.
