Our client is a globally recognised design and engineering consultancy supporting infrastructure, water, energy, and defence projects across the UK and internationally. They are renowned for combining technical innovation with sustainable engineering principles. Due to project expansion across the coastal and marine sector, they’re looking for a Senior Coastal Engineer to support a pipeline of transformative programmes.
THE SENIOR COASTAL ENGINEER ROLE:
As a Senior Coastal Engineer, you will lead and contribute to the delivery of coastal engineering designs on major national infrastructure projects. Responsibilities include managing technical outputs, developing design briefs, supporting bids, collaborating across disciplines, and ensuring high-quality delivery across multiple project phases. You’ll work with local and international teams and clients, adding value throughout the lifecycle of design and construction.
SENIOR COASTAL ENGINEER ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
- Chartered Civil Engineer status
- Proven experience in multidisciplinary coastal engineering design
- In-depth knowledge of ocean wave theory, tidal modelling, and sediment transport
- Experience in designing coastal structures (e.g., sea walls, flood defences, breakwaters)
- Familiarity with BS6349, EurOtop Manual, and Rock Manual standards
- Ability to lead and direct numerical modelling teams
