The Financial Accountant will report to the Financial Accounting Manager and will be responsible for delivering high-quality financial accounting services across the organisation. They will oversee the month-end process and manage a team of part-qualified accountants.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and support a team of part-qualified accountants
- Deputise for the Financial Accounting Manager as required to ensure continuity of leadership
- Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies in line with IFRS and regulatory standards
- Oversee the month-end process, including journal reviews and financial ledger accuracy
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of balance sheet reconciliations
- Review and approve bad debt provisions and support credit control processes
- Support statutory audits through preparation of year-end working papers and other relevant documentation
- Act as a subject matter expert and provide guidance on complex financial queries
- Drive improvements within the financial accounting function through stakeholder feedback and process reviews
- A recognised professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
- Strong technical accounting knowledge
- Experience in a finance management role, ideally within financial accounting or reporting
- Sound understanding of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities to tight deadlines
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to deliver meaningful financial insights
- Proven stakeholder management experience, both internal and external
