Our client, a small, values-led charitable organisation is seeking a temporary Finance Officer to provide day-to-day financial support and ensure the smooth running of its finance operations. This is a part-time role (0.6 FTE) and running for 4-months in the first instance, supporting a senior member of the organisation and playing a key part in maintaining accurate records and managing core processes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Daily banking, payments, and transfers using Bankline.
- Responding to finance-related emails and ad-hoc requests.
- Running four-weekly payroll, including pensions and HMRC submissions.
- Preparing monthly spend reports, reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Assisting with year-end processes, audits, and budget preparation.
- Maintaining accurate records in Sage and performing regular backups.
- Paying invoices, managing credit card applications, and filing financial documents.
- Liaising with external providers and handling occasional sensitive notifications.
- Monitoring care home fee payments and raising concerns as needed.
To be considered, you will have:
- Previous experience in a finance or accounts role.
- Confidence using Sage and strong general IT skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Discretion when handling confidential or sensitive matters.
- A calm, flexible, and compassionate approach.
