Our client, a leading Professional Services firm, is seeking a skilled Group Procurement Manager to join their team in Manchester on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced procurement professional to make a significant impact within a dynamic and growing organisation.
Position Overview
As the Group Procurement Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing procurement activities and contract management solutions for allocated categories. You will work closely with key stakeholders across the group, acting as a trusted business partner and providing expert procurement advice. This position offers the opportunity to lead high-value and complex projects, contributing to the overall success of the organisation.
Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for procurement queries and provide expert procurement advice
- Collaborate with key stakeholders across the group as a trusted business partner
- Ensure companywide procurement requirements and contract management solutions for allocated categories are managed effectively
- Lead high-value and complex procurement projects
- Deputise for the Head of Procurement and Senior Group Procurement Managers as necessary
- Manage the Procurement Pipeline and Tracker to ensure projects are completed successfully
- Conduct commercial and contract negotiations to achieve favourable outcomes
- Own the cradle-to-grave procurement process, including ITT/RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs
- Develop relationships with existing suppliers to reduce costs, enhance service, and deliver innovation and sustainability
- Ensure all procurement activities align with internal Procurement Policy & Procedures
- Collaborate with Legal, Data Protection, and Information Security teams to mitigate third-party risks
- Ensure all contracts meet group policy, regulatory, and industry standards
Requirements
- Experience in end-to-end strategic procurement across various indirect procurement categories
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, ideally with a Financial Services background
- Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills
- Experience in drafting and interpreting contracts and clauses
- Excellent commercial negotiation and supplier relationship management skills
- Sound understanding of procurement category management
- Proficiency in creating and managing complex tender and benchmarking exercises
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
- Commercial awareness and acute business acumen
- Ability to analyse data and prioritise workload to meet deadlines
- Self-motivated with high energy to drive results
- Dynamic, flexible, and professional approach to work
- Degree level education desirable
- MCIPS qualification or working towards it is advantageous
