The Company A Lancashire-based Civil Engineering contractor has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Site Engineer to work on a range of civil and new road improvement projects across the Oldham and Rochdale borough.

The Role

  • Working on 278 Works / Public Realm / Paving / Earthworks / New Road Construction / Road Surfacing / Road Junctions / Round About / Drainage / Externals / Landscaping.
  • Working alongside an existing management team, Project Manager and Site managers.
  • Setting Out for all the above works.
  • All associated paperwork / Record Keeping / QA Sub-contract.
  • Interpret and implement construction drawings and specifications.
  • Prepare and manage setting out data, records, and QA documentation.
  • Liaise with site management, subcontractors, and design teams.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Monitor site progress and provide technical support as needed.

What We’re Looking For

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience working on highways and public realm schemes.
  • Civil Engineering/Construction Management Qualification e.g. HNC/HND/Degree level.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Word etc.
  • Proven experience working setting out on 278 works, Earthworks, New Road Construction, Road Junctions, Drainage, Concreting, Landscaping.
  • Strong understanding of site safety, quality control, and programme management.
  • Self-motivated with a hands-on, solutions-focused approach.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to use initiative to identify and solve problems.
  • Excellent planning and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
