This externally-based role focuses on establishing high-quality rooflight systems within the specification sector across the flat roofing market. The successful candidate will be responsible for generating demand for commercial product ranges by promoting them to architects, specifiers, contractors, and other key stakeholders in the construction industry.
You will support projects from design to completion, using a consultative approach and your technical expertise to influence specifications, win projects, and help deliver innovative roofing solutions.
Day-to-Day Duties
- Sales Strategy & Development
- Develop and execute a strategic plan to grow product specifications in the South region
- Identify and convert opportunities through lead generation tools (e.g. Barbour ABI)
- Deliver tailored CPD seminars to architects and specifiers
- Support marketing with region-specific initiatives
- Technical Sales & Support
- Provide in-depth product and application knowledge to assist with technical queries
- Support NBS specification writing and provide best-practice advice to specifiers
- Stay up to date with relevant regulations and construction standards
- Client & Stakeholder Management
- Build strong working relationships with specifiers, architects, main contractors, and supply chain professionals
- Conduct project visits and deliver product training on-site where required
- Represent the company at trade shows, CPD events, and industry networking functions
- Reporting & CRM
- Maintain detailed and accurate specification tracking using CRM tools
- Report on KPIs, market trends, and pipeline forecasts to senior leadership
Essential Skills
- Proven experience in specification sales, ideally within construction or building products
- Technical understanding of rooflight, cladding, or building envelope systems
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities
- Skilled in building and maintaining professional relationships
- Strong self-management with a target-driven approach
- IT literate, with proficiency in CRM and Microsoft Office applications
- Full UK driving licence
- Flexibility for regional travel and occasional overnight stays
Desirable Skills
- Familiarity with flat roofing or daylighting systems
- Experience working with NBS specifications
