The Role: Senior Capital Projects Manager
Location: London base / National Coverage (Hybrid)
Sector: Leisure & Entertainment
Salary: Up to £65,000 + Bonus
I am delighted to be working with a leading operator in the live entertainment sector to find them a Senior Capital Projects Manager to provide strategic leadership and deliver capital projects across a diverse portfolio of performance venues. This is a pivotal role for an expert in project management, procurement, and compliance, ensuring all projects are executed efficiently, within budget, and to the highest industry standards. You will work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to shape the property strategy and deliver world-class facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Project & Capital Works Management
- Lead end-to-end procurement and delivery of capital works, ensuring full legislative and regulatory compliance (e.g., fire safety, health & safety, CDM regulations).
- Develop technical briefs and scopes of work for consultants and contractors, ensuring robust contractual agreements.
- Oversee project delivery with a strong focus on risk management, stakeholder engagement, and value engineering.
- Plan and execute multiple, high-profile projects, aligning with business objectives.
- Line manage a Project Manager, providing mentorship, guidance, and professional development.
- Full financial accountability for capital project budgets, ensuring proactive cost management.
- Develop, monitor, and manage capital expenditure plans, aligning projects with strategic objectives.
- Prepare and deliver regular reports to senior leadership, ensuring clear visibility of project progress, financials, and risks.
- Drive compliance with governance structures and accountability at all project levels.
- Work closely with internal teams including Technical Operations, Facilities, Procurement, and Venue Operations.
- Build and maintain relationships with landlords, management companies, local councils, and legal teams.
- Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, ensuring timely escalation and effective change control.
- Conduct impact assessments and scenario planning for potential project disruptions.
Experience & Technical Expertise
- Proven project management experience in property, facilities, or engineering.
- NEBOSH Construction qualification.
- PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification required; RICS desirable.
- Experience managing multi-site, complex capital projects within a diverse portfolio.
- Expertise in MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) projects highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of property compliance, lease management, and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience implementing structure, process, and governance in a collaborative manner.
- Familiarity with project management tools, financial reporting systems, and procurement best practices.
