This is an unmissable opportunity to join a well-established and respected developer in a client-side role. Our client is seeking to hire a Planning Manager to join their Manchester team. The company specialises in national land promotion, with a strong emphasis on residential and mixed-use developments.

Reporting to the Planning Director, you will be responsible for developing and implementing planning strategies, leading planning applications, and supporting the wider team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research to inform planning strategies and site promotions.
  • Develop and implement planning and engagement strategies.
  • Prepare and sign off planning reports, applications, appeals, and policy presentations.
  • Support senior team members with planning matters as required.
  • Review and provide feedback on external consultant reports.
  • Manage workload effectively, including delegating tasks as needed.
  • Lead public engagement and consultation events.
  • Mentor and support junior planners.
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Experience in residential planning (preferred but not essential).
  • A degree in Planning or a related field, with eligibility for RTPI Membership.
  • Proven ability to manage workloads and projects efficiently.
  • Knowledge of site promotion through development plans and planning applications.
  • A proactive and positive mindset.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ambition to take on leadership roles and advance within the company.
