Location: Taunton
Shift: Working 5 days between Monday – Sunday, working 37 hours per week initially until the end of July, but may be extended. Please note this position involves weekend working and it’s vital you can commit to this. Hours per week are dependent, with varying start and finish times based on the site.
Hourly Rate: £13.37 basic rate (additional rate for overtime)
About the role: You’ll start your day for an hour or so in the local delivery office, loading the mail for your route, before setting out on foot or in a provided van to complete your parcel/mail round. You’ll each be given a hand-held computer device to capture customer signatures for deliveries with each round usually taking around four hours to complete. The hand-held computer will also act as your routing system putting your round in the most economical route.
About You: Upbeat and self-motivated, you’ll be as happy working alone as well as working as part of a team and getting to know different people on your round. You’ll have a strong sense of community and the idea of doing a job that involves flexible working patterns will appeal to you. You will be delivering post/parcels come rain or shine, so we’re looking for people who like being outdoors whatever the weather; you’ll also be someone who likes the idea of doing a job that will help you keep fit. Some experience in a customer facing role would be ideal.
Requirements:
- A full UK manual driving licence required (in your current UK address), with no more than six penalty points is essential, but a clean licence is preferred.
- Right to work ID – Passport in current name or original birth certificate.
- Proof of current home address – Bank statement or utility bill issued in the last three months.
- Proof of NI number.
