At Cavendish Nuclear we are working to create a safe and secure world, together, and if you join us, you can play your part as an HVAC Construction Engineer supporting the Hinkley Point C new nuclear build in Bridgwater, Somerset. This is a brilliant opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance works across the project to integrate and coordinate the delivery of all main MEH, cabling and associated support services. This innovative approach will help different contractors work as a single entity to deliver the complex installation of cabling and pipework in the power station's 2,500 rooms.
The role:
- As an HVAC Construction Engineer, you will lead, manage and motivate the team through implementation of best practice, support continuous improvement programmes to improve process/procedures and ensure compliance with all nuclear safety and site license requirements.
- Day to day, you will deliver HVAC Construction Workpacks to support the MEH Alliance programme as well as providing and demonstrating a positive HSE leadership, building a strong and compliant HS&E culture throughout the whole construction life cycle of the Project.
- Facilitate the use of the Procon system to enhance construction activities and progress reporting for the MEH Alliance.
- Ensure the MEH Alliance's adherence to the Work Authorisation and Permit systems managed by NNB.
- Coordinate safe access routes to workfaces to support the MEH Alliance's construction efforts.
- Conduct topographical and other necessary surveys to aid the MEH Alliance's construction projects.
- Prioritize and manage documentation to enable construction activities according to the level 4 plan, ensuring acceptance three months prior to commencement.
- Ensure all documents comply with the latest work information and other MEH documentation.
This is a full-time role, 37 hours per week and based in Hessle, Hull. The role will require a 4-week period on site at Hinkley Point C in Bridgwater, to enable an in-depth induction. Once up to speed you will be required to go to site infrequently.
Essential experience:
- Experience working on major construction projects with a proven track record of working in a highly regulated sector and knowledge and experience in Safe Systems of Work.
- Experienced in delivering and operating at Engineer or Senior Engineer level, including experience working within Joint Ventures.
Qualifications:
- Degree qualification or equivalent vocational training and experience of installing HVAC systems.
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
