About Us
Priory Hospital Ticehurst is a well-established and respected independent mental health hospital set in a beautiful rural location in East Sussex. As well as a beautiful and exceptionally friendly working environment with access to 50 acres of grounds, employees who need it can be accommodated on site. The grounds are also used to host summer events such as cream teas and barbeques.
Ticehurst\βs location means you can have the best of both worlds with the coast only 20 minutes to the south and Central London around an hour away by direct train. We provide a range of specialist inpatient services for male/female acute and private facilities on well-maintained wards. Our multi-disciplinary teams are passionate about delivering safe, effective, and person-centred care, and we are now seeking experienced and motivated Deputy Ward Managers to support our wards in delivering excellence every day.
The Role
As a Deputy Ward Manager/Charge Nurse, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Ward Manager in the day-to-day running of the ward. You\βll provide clinical leadership, mentor junior staff, and ensure the highest standards of care are maintained.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading shifts and supporting staff development
- Ensuring adherence to regulatory and clinical governance standards
- Supporting effective care planning and risk assessment processes
- Acting as a role model and promoting a positive, safe ward culture
- Supporting audits, care reviews, and professional development initiatives
What We\βre Looking For
- Registered Nurse (RMN/RNLD/RGN) with current NMC registration
- Experience in a mental health or specialist care setting (inpatient experience desirable)
- A compassionate, proactive leader with strong clinical and communication skills
- A passion for promoting recovery-focused, patient-centred care
- Previous leadership or senior staff nurse experience is advantageous
