We are seeking a talented and driven lawyer to join a thriving Insurance team in Bristol. You will play a key role in advising and representing a broad range of professionals and insurers on complex indemnity claims, with a particular focus on solicitors, brokers, insurers and other finance professionals. This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor with professional indemnity experience to progress their career with a top-tier firm, working on high-quality cases in a supportive and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of professional indemnity claims.
  • Act on behalf of insurers and insured professionals in defending claims.
  • Draft pleadings, witness statements, and settlement documentation.
  • Conduct negotiations and attend mediations and settlement meetings.
  • Liaise with clients, experts, and counsel, ensuring the highest level of client service.
  • Provide risk management and coverage advice where required.
  • Contribute to business development initiatives and client relationship management.

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with 1+ PQE in professional indemnity or related litigation areas.
  • Solid experience acting for insurers and/or professionals.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legal principles including negligence, breach of contract, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to provide pragmatic advice.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • A proactive, team-oriented approach and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Desirable

  • Experience in defending claims against solicitors, finance professionals, or brokers.
  • Familiarity with coverage issues and insurance policy interpretation.
  • A track record of working within a panel firm environment or for major insurers.
