Are you an experienced care professional who is looking for a rewarding career? A specialist case management and rehabilitation company that provides support work, case management, occupational therapy, physiotherapy and medico legal services to children and adults across North England and south Scotland is looking for a Rehabilitation Support Worker in Kendal and surrounding areas. Along with a salary starting from £14.50 per hour (depending on experience), you will also receive generous mileage rates, additional holiday accrued with service, a pension scheme, health cover and employee rewards. Working hours are part time.

What you’ll do as a Rehabilitation Support Worker:

  • You will work with our 52-year-old client who sustained a traumatic brain injury as a child.
  • You will be supporting him to access the community and prompting him to complete daily living activities in their own home.
  • He has a keen mind for information/general knowledge, enjoys computing, TV quizzes and building Lego.
  • He attends regular community-based activities independently; however, there may be occasions where he attends additional activities/events and needs support.
  • Our client is also supported to make his meal each evening by an agency, so collaborative working is valued.
  • A friendly disposition, sense of humour and great conversation skills are essential.

We’re looking for a Rehabilitation Support Worker with:

  • Previous experience of supporting work in clients' homes and ideally some experience with brain injury survivors.
  • Driving licence and car owner is essential as the client will use your car to access the community.
  • NVQ / Diploma Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or have equivalent experience e.g. completed year 1/level 4 of a recognised health profession degree course).
  • A completed Care Certificate is desirable.
