You're a qualified Accountant from the Insurance industry who thrives on variety, enjoys being close to the numbers and the strategy, and likes working in a genuinely collaborative environment. I'm working with a leading Lloyd's of London Insurance Broker that is currently growing and looking for a Senior Finance Accountant to join their team. It's a broad, hands-on role where you'll be supporting the CFO and Assistant Director to keep the Group's finances sharp, accurate, and compliant – while also contributing to key decisions and improvements across the function.
You'll get involved in everything from management accounts and reconciliations through to budgeting, tax, and regulatory returns. It's a proper mix – ideal if you enjoy the technical detail but also want to work with senior people and have a voice in how things are done.
What you'll be doing day to day:
- Monthly management accounts and income reporting
- VAT returns, corporate tax calculations, and regulatory submissions (RMAR, Resilience reports etc.)
- Supporting the year-end and interim financial statements
- Fixed asset and nominal ledger maintenance
- Reviewing client money reconciliations (CASS 5 experience would be a bonus)
- FX trading activity and surplus fund investments
- P11Ds, 1099s, and liaising with auditors and external providers
What they're after:
You'll be fully qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with a couple of years post-qual experience. Ideally, you've spent time in both practice and industry, and you'll either come from an insurance or broking background and be comfortable in your ability to get stuck in and pick up the ropes in no time. You'll enjoy a bit of pressure (the good kind) and like being part of a team that backs each other, and take real pride in producing clean, accurate, and high-quality work and working in a culture that rewards that hard work.
The important bits...
- Salary around £75k+ depending on experience (please let me know if you are looking for more than this as there is flexibility)
- Bonus potential is genuinely strong – not just a token gesture
- Hybrid working – 3 days a week in their London office
- Solid benefits, supportive team, and a business that values initiative
Here's what to do next... If that all sounds like what you are looking for for your next move, drop me a message and I'll fill you in on the details. Happy to have a confidential chat.
