The reward manager acts as subject matter expert (SME) for business and the human resources community on all aspects of reward policy and its execution through sound and pragmatic guidance. Supports the execution of all compensation and benefit processes and the generation of reward analytics and reports.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Acting as the first point of contact for salary survey vendors and the resolution of operational and tactical issues which arise with any such vendors or the use of their salary survey portals.
  • Developing and maintaining salary ranges and benefits communication materials for all countries where the business operates.
  • Providing guidance to recruiters, HRBPs and business leaders on the appropriate use of reward levers such as salary ranges, benefits and recognition, to inform reward decisions.
  • Maintaining as well as contributing to a library of such guidance with suitable and up to date communication material.
  • Providing compensation benchmarking using, where appropriate, data from the salary survey Portal(s) and platforms available to the business.
  • Managing all aspects of salary data submissions to salary surveys in which the business participates.
  • Providing formal grading of jobs, using the Mercer IPE job grading methodology.
  • Maintaining the global job catalogue and any additions or changes to it.
  • Generating reward analytics and reports as well as maintaining and contributing to a library of standardised reward analytics and reports.
  • Managing day-to-day queries and all reporting relating to the annual bonus and salary review process, and benefits renewals.
  • Acting as the first point of contact for MyHR compensation and benefit cases escalated to the reward team.
  • Conducting reward scenario modelling across all components of reward.
  • Working collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.

You’ll need to have:

  • Deep expertise in UK compensation benchmarking, job grading, the use of Reward related technology (e.g. salary surveys, benchmarking Portals), career frameworks as well as reward analytics and reporting.
  • Sound numeric capability.
  • High proficiency in Excel.
  • Broad based UK reward knowledge across full spectrum of total reward (base pay, variable pay, benefits and recognition).
  • Ability to effectively engage and communicate at all levels in the organisation, including senior stakeholders at the executive level.
  • High resilience to deal with ambiguity and lack of structure.
  • Ability to achieve and deliver in transitional environment.
  • Ability to constructively challenge and contribute to solutions, building on ideas from others.
  • Experience in reward, with exposure to all the elements of reward (base pay, variable pay, benefits and recognition).

You’ll also have:

  • Previous experience in using Mercer salary survey portal and Mercer IPE job grading tool.
  • Degree level, preferably with maths, statistics or economics.
  • International compensation and benefits experience.
  • Project management skills.
  • Some exposure to global mobility.
  • Basic level of coaching skills.
