Are you an experienced Transport Planner looking for a step up? We are looking for a Senior Transport Planner who will plan and execute collection and delivery schedules via the most cost effective means.
Your Time at Work
- Making full use of all IT systems, TMS and customer portals to ensure efficient fleet and employee deployment.
- Fully utilise all vehicles to ensure accurate and appropriate allocation of drivers/vehicles/trailers/customer deliveries and backloads.
- Working closely with the workshop to ensure vehicles and trailers are available to support the transport requirement, service scheduling is built into the plan and advise the operation in a timely manner when there are any risks to vehicle or trailer availability.
- Communicating and sharing plans with the transport team to deliver through efficiency and maintain customer service levels.
- Managing staffing levels, including agency staff to ensure sufficient staffing levels are always in place to meet and exceed the daily plan and to meet customer requirements.
- Communicate effectively with all customers and work with them to understand and resource their schedules. Also, to include but not limited to: effective handovers to the relevant individuals/departments, and key stakeholders for any operational delays to ensure a smooth and efficient service is being delivered.
- Controlling and planning operational deliveries for the following day and providing rates, quotes and processing all customer bookings to meet customers' needs and expectations.
- Working as part of a team and participating in cross training initiatives to provide effective cover in a colleague's absence.
- Identifying, communicating, and driving any continuous improvements to develop the operation of the business continually.
- Operating to a high standard of general housekeeping and working safely, complying with all health and safety regulations to maintain a clean, safe, and tidy working environment.
