I'm working exclusively with a top regional law firm seeking a Partner to lead their Southampton Family Team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Family Lawyer to manage a caseload of complex, high-value family matters while supervising and growing a talented team.
The Role: You'll be responsible for leading the team and handling a diverse range of family law cases, including complex financial remedies, international matters, and children disputes. The firm supports a healthy work-life balance and flexible working arrangements.
The Team: This award-recognised Family Team works across multiple offices in Southampton, Guildford, Richmond, Woking, Lymington, and London, serving high-net-worth clients in London and the Home Counties.
Key Practice Areas:
- Complex financial remedies (trusts, business assets, pensions, international cases)
- Pre- and post-nuptial and cohabitation agreements, including cross-border arrangements
- Non-Court Dispute Resolution focusing on mediation and collaborative law
- Innovative approaches to streamline divorce/separation for non-conflicted clients
- Specialist advice on cohabitation disputes, surrogacy, and private children law
The team's approach is constructive and aims to avoid unnecessary court proceedings wherever possible.
Candidate Profile:
- Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with significant family law experience, ideally including financial remedies and complex children disputes with an international element
- Proven business development skills and an established professional network
- Experience managing or contributing to team leadership, including supervising fee-earners and support staff
- Commitment to the Resolution Code of Practice and collaborative working
- Accreditation from the Law Society and/or Resolution advantageous
- Ready to take the step into Partnership or actively working towards this
- Strong communication skills, client focus, creativity, and a human-first mindset are essential.
