We're looking for a detail-driven Project Accountant to join the commercial and project teams for an Engineering business in Gloucester. If you thrive on accuracy, enjoy working across multiple departments, and want to make a tangible impact in a growing company-this could be the role for you.

The Role

As Project Accountant, you'll play a vital role in managing the project finances, supporting cash flow, and driving process improvements. You'll help ensure the financial health and profitability of projects while contributing to scalable, efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records across multiple live projects
• Ensure client invoicing is timely and aligns with contract milestones
• Oversee supplier and subcontractor payments, nurturing strong relationships
• Use Xero for accounting, reconciliations, and reporting
• Support project budgeting, cost control, and cash flow forecasting
• Collaborate with project management
• Assist in month-end and year-end reporting and audits

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• Proven experience in bookkeeping and project accounting
• Proficiency with Xero
• Strong organisational skills and a keen eye for detail
• Confident working independently and across teams
• Excellent time management and communication skills
• Ability to prioritise multiple deadlines
