An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Real Estate Underwriter to join a leading insurer’s UK Commercial Division based in Manchester. This role focuses on underwriting a broad portfolio of real estate risks, supporting regional growth while maintaining underwriting discipline and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Underwrite UK-based real estate risks, including commercial, residential, mixed-use, and development properties.
- Evaluate submissions in detail, including lease agreements, occupancy, construction details, and risk exposures.
- Develop and apply accurate pricing models in partnership with actuarial teams.
- Prepare and review bespoke policy wordings and endorsements, ensuring timely and correct issuance of bound policies.
- Foster and grow relationships with regional and national brokers, representing the company at meetings, presentations, and industry events.
- Stay informed on UK property market dynamics, regulatory developments, and emerging risk issues.
- Collaborate with internal teams including Claims and Risk Engineering to help shape underwriting strategies.
- Guide and support Assistant Underwriters to ensure high-quality, consistent output.
- Contribute to the strategic development of the real estate portfolio across the UK, with a focus on the Northern market.
