We’re partnering with a rapidly growing network solutions provider that delivers cutting-edge connectivity for major international sports and live entertainment broadcasts. With demand on the rise, they’re expanding their delivery team and looking for a Broadcast Event Engineer to play a pivotal role in supporting global productions.
This position offers a mix of hands-on engineering, solution design, and international travel to live event sites. While the company’s operations hub is in London, they welcome applications from candidates across the UK who can travel to London between events if required for equipment builds and team collaboration ahead of live events.
The Role
As part of a specialist technical team, you’ll be involved in both the design and delivery of live event connectivity solutions. You’ll support pre-event preparation, deploy to site for setup and testing, and monitor live feeds during transmission.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble, test, and configure broadcast equipment prior to deployment
- Build technical systems on-site at live event locations
- Monitor feeds and troubleshoot any issues during live broadcasts
- Collaborate with telecom partners and broadcasters during setup and testing
- Maintain clear records and support post-event debriefs
- Support continuous improvement of network and transmission systems
What We’re Looking For
- Ideally applicants will have previous experience working in an outside broadcast environment although those with a keen interest in this area will also be considered
- A solid foundation in IP networking and connectivity for media applications
- Working knowledge of video formats and signal flow (SDI/HD-SDI/UHD)
- Familiar with encoders/decoders and transmission over IP
- Comfortable working under pressure and in time-critical environments
- Able to do a high level of travel internationally as required with duration of trips varying depending on size of event
- Some experience with fibre deployments and troubleshooting is a plus
- Hands-on skills such as cable building and rack configuration desirable
Bonus Skills (Nice to Have)
- Experience with Net Insight Nimbra or similar transmission platforms
- Scripting knowledge or familiarity with booking/automation systems
- Exposure to remote production workflows or signal monitoring tools
