WRG has recently partnered with an award winning multi-disciplinary property & construction consultancy that operates across the UK. The business is looking to appoint an experienced fire safety professional who is competent to carry out FRAEW surveys on a range of residential projects for their clients throughout the built environment. (Vast majority of the projects will be buildings under 18m but there will be some over 18m). You will sit within the cladding consultancy team, and would be supported by experienced building surveyors, project managers, structural engineers, CDM/ principal designers and BRPDs. The role would suit a fire safety professional who is passionate about ensuring buildings meet the highest safety standards and would like to join a forward thinking organisation with ambitious growth plans for the future.
What Youll Be Doing:
- Conducting fire risk assessments (FRA) with a focus on external wall systems (EWS).
- Carrying out site inspections and surveys across a diverse property portfolio.
- Carry out a range of fire risk assessments and compartmentation surveys where required.
- Preparing detailed FRA and EWS reports, ensuring compliance with current fire safety legislation.
- Collaborating with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure best practices are followed.
- Keeping up to date with fire safety regulations, BS 9991, PAS 9980, and evolving industry standards.
Requirements:
- Degree educated or equivalent in surveying, structural engineering, fire engineering or similar discipline (desirable).
- Proven experience in fire safety compliance with expertise in external wall systems.
- Strong knowledge of fire safety regulations, building materials, and façade systems.
- A relevant FRA qualification (e.g., NEBOSH Fire, IFSM, IFE accreditation).
- Experience conducting FRAEW assessments and understanding PAS 9980 methodology.
- Excellent report-writing skills and attention to detail.
- A proactive, analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Full UK driving license and willingness to travel.
