Legal and Governance Recruitment Specialist

We are currently working in partnership with a Local Government who are recruiting for a Childcare Lawyer on a three-month temporary contract to support the team while they recruit permanently.

This is a London-based position on a full-time contract of 36 hours per week. This organisation is offering a heavily remote role that requires office attendance c. once/twice a fortnight, with a negotiable rate dependent on experience.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Providing legal advice, guidance and practical assistance over the whole range of the Councils children’s services; on Local Government Administration and Judicial Review Proceedings
  • Conducting a full range of children s service cases, including those raising complex or major issues and to undertaking advocacy in the Courts and Tribunals, where rights of audience permit this
  • Handling child protection cases as required expeditiously by evaluating evidence, formulating reports and drafting proceedings
  • Advising on evidence and procedure and the conduct of any trials and undertaking the preparation of cases, evaluating evidence and draft court applications/documentation as required
  • Deputising for the Principal Lawyer on request in respect of issues connected with the functions of this post
  • Assisting in the operational management of the Team, including training and career development of the Team

Experience required:

  • Qualified Solicitor or Barrister

Working hours:

  • Full time (36 hours a week)
  • Monday to Friday
