This company is a family-owned, independently run and global design-led business who hold an impressive status as one of the world's largest furniture designers and manufacturers. They provide their services to a variety of sectors, including Education, Hospitality, Healthcare, Corporate and Home. They design and create furniture for some of the most known companies across the globe, including Google, HSBC, Jaguar Land Rover and Rolls Royce.

In this role you will mainly be responsible for leading a team of design and development engineers to produce innovative solutions in line with project briefs and time frames. You will oversee the design and development life cycle, ensuring completion to the highest standard while collaborating with cross-functional teams within the business, some of which include quality, production, marketing and sales.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience within a Design Management role and from an Engineering, Manufacturing and/or Product Development background.

The role:

  • Lead a team of 4/5 design and development engineers.
  • Oversee the design and development life cycle.
  • Responsible for all new product data and introducing this data to the business.
  • 37.5 working week - Monday to Friday 7am - 4pm with a 2:30pm early finish every Friday.
  • Training available.

The person:

  • Experienced Design Manager - experience leading teams.
  • Comes from an Engineering, Manufacturing and/or Product Development background.
  • Able to commute to site in Blackburn.
  • Time served or qualified to HNC level in Design Engineering or similar discipline.
