Assistant Director of Homeless Prevention

This client is dedicated to appointing the right Assistant Director of Homelessness Prevention to ensure the borough’s most vulnerable residents receive the support they need through compassionate and effective leadership. They are seeking a committed, innovative individual who shares their values and is passionate about creating lasting change in people\’s lives.

• Interim contract – 6 Months (Initially)
• Day rate – £650 to £750
• Hybrid Working

Assistant Director of Homelessness Prevention key responsibilities:

• Developing and implementing strategies to prevent homelessness across the borough.
• Ensuring alignment with the Council’s Housing Strategy, relevant legislation, and local priorities.
• Advising elected members and senior officers on matters relating to homelessness and housing support.

Service Delivery:

• Leading initiatives to reduce homelessness, including early intervention schemes, tenancy sustainment programmes, and outreach services.
• Managing cross-functional teams involving housing officers, support workers, and external partners.
• Overseeing commissioning, procurement, and performance management of services and providers.
• Collaborating with voluntary sector organisations, housing associations, and health services to provide holistic support.
