Our client is a well-established and reputable steel stockholder, specializing in colour coated steel to a wide range of sectors. With continued growth and investment, they are now looking to strengthen their commercial team with the addition of an experienced Area Sales Manager.
As Area Sales Manager, you will be responsible for managing and developing a portfolio of customers across your designated region. This role is ideal for a driven and commercially minded individual with a proven track record in the steel industry. You will be tasked with both account management and new business development, focusing on building long-term client relationships and driving revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage existing accounts and develop new business opportunities within your area
- Conduct client visits to understand their needs and offer tailored solutions
- Provide accurate quotations and follow up on leads
- Meet agreed sales targets and KPIs
- Maintain up-to-date records of customer interactions using CRM systems
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity
Requirements:
- Proven field sales experience within the steel industry (pre-painted, sheet, coil or profiling highly desirable)
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
- Self-motivated and target-driven
- Ability to work independently and manage your own diary
- Full UK driving licence
- Competitive basic salary (dependent on experience)
