Carbon60 are seeking an experienced Production Test Engineer to join their defence client's manufacturing team based in Henlow, Bedfordshire. The Development and Production Test Engineer position is a crucial part of the company's manufacturing team, responsible for providing technical support and expertise during the production testing of advanced defence systems.
Responsibilities:
- Providing Test Engineering support throughout the design and development phases, from initial concept to production readiness review and release to operations.
- Supporting the introduction of test facilities and ensuring configuration control of equipment and facilities prior to use, including generating supporting test specifications and operator instructions.
- Assisting with the testing of electrical and electronic weapon systems, diagnosing production test failures down to the subsystem level.
- Identifying remedial and corrective actions to allow manufacturing to continue production in line with program objectives.
- Evaluating technical problems and developing proposals for test equipment investigations and corrective actions, including process improvements.
- Representing Test Engineering at Defect Review Board meetings to ensure efficient progress of equipment and quality notifications towards corrective action.
Requirements:
- HNC/HND (Electronics) or equivalent, plus a strong background in digital and analog electronics manufacturing and testing.
- A deep understanding of measurement and test principles, as well as associated test equipment.
- Familiarity with the CADMID product lifecycle for test equipment, with an advantage for those with experience in RF and microwave technology.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to generate test specifications, operator instructions, and technical reports.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- The ability to plan and organize your own work to ensure multiple tasks can be prioritized and delivered against project objectives.
