The ideal candidate would have:

• The applicant must have significant and varied experience and skills working within this role – carrying out legionella risk assessments in line with ACOP – L8 risk accreditation on various properties and within the legionella control industry.
• Will have attended an approved Risk Assessment course such as the Water Hygiene Control in Water Systems (WH004) or have had internal training courses and must have good working knowledge of commercial and industrial water systems, supplies and water regulations governing these.
• Current H&S qualifications will be very beneficial, or a willingness to take on further upskilling in this area to cover other types of compliance assessments.
• Will be proficient in using the Microsoft Office Package.
• Will come from a strong consultancy, chemical and water safety risk assessment background.
• Will have good client-facing, people management, organizational and presentational skills.
• Coming from other environment and facilities background would be advantageous.
• Will have a clean driving licence.
• Will have the right to work in the UK.

About the role:

Carrying out Water Safety/Legionella Risk Assessments on various sectors and properties which will include:

• Retail premises
• Commercial premises
• Residential and care home premises

You will be carrying out Legionella risk assessments in line with ACOP L8 risk assessments, producing schematic drawings and final documents including for clients and providing recommendations and prices for remedial works, routine control measures through to quotations, and carrying out such works based on the risk assessment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Carrying out monthly temperature testing and water sampling.
• Carrying out surveys of water systems – domestic systems and supplies– BS8580.
• Collating and producing comprehensive Risk Assessment reports – manuals in accordance with ACOP – L8 – BS8580.
• Advising clients on reports or any findings – liaising with them appropriately and effectively.
• Attending meetings as and when required.
• Other duties may include carrying out monitoring and maintaining jobs on building services – part of the Legionella Control Programmes – ACOP L8 which will entail:
• Temperature testing of water outlets, TMVs, inspection of cold-water storage tanks and hot-water storage vessels, water sampling, showerhead, and disinfections.
• In general, the successful post holder will be an all-rounder, flexible, committed, have a good work ethic and have the ability to work smart and must be prepared to travel extensively. They will also be willing to take on further training in other Health & Safety disciplines in order to widen the scope of surveys they can undertake.
