Senior Design Engineer – Renewable Energy
Location: London, Hybrid
Salary: £70,000 – £90,000 + Uncapped Commission
MDE Group UK, working on behalf of a leading global renewable energy company, is seeking a skilled Senior Engineer to support its engineering and technical teams. With a strong presence across Europe and Africa, this organisation designs, assembles, and operates solar power systems, focusing on both ground-mount and rooftop installations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Electrical and mechanical design and specification
- Management of engineering deliverables
- Low and medium voltage design and compliance
- SAT and FAT compliance
- CAD and SCADA design and specification
- Electrical protection and earthing system design
- Tenders and proposal development
- Adhere to ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 processes
- Provide technical support across various business areas
- Contribute to company improvement initiatives
- Undertake other duties as required
Role Requirements:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Strong attention to detail and multi-skilled technical expertise
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the design and delivery of solar PV and energy storage projects (preferred but not essential)
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to travel internationally
- Familiarity with IEC standards, medium voltage, and protection coordination (preferred)
- Experience with AutoCAD, PVSyst, DigSilent, and Homer software
