A client of ours needs a hands-on Systems Administrator to stabilise, secure, and support their IT environment. It’s a standalone, high-trust role — you’ll be the go-to expert for infrastructure, cloud, and security.
This isn’t BAU support. It’s for someone who’s been around the block and can lead the back-end estate while upskilling junior IT staff.
What You’ll Be Doing
Running the show across Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and on-prem Windows Servers
Getting hands-on with Cisco Meraki, Mimecast, backups (Veeam/Acronis), and general networking
Being the final escalation point for tricky issues — no ticket-chasing
Helping deliver small infrastructure projects and supporting ERP systems (IFS/SAP/Oracle etc.)
Improving documentation, security posture, and general system resilience
Working closely with the senior management and mentoring junior team members
What You’ll Need
5–7 years in a systems/infrastructure role — ideally as a senior, lead, or sole admin
Strong experience with:
Microsoft 365 (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams)
Azure AD / Entra ID, Group Policy
Cisco, ideally Meraki, general networking
Mimecast, backups (Veeam/Acronis/Barracuda)
ERP support (any major system — e.g. IFS, SAP, Dynamics)
Security-aware mindset (ISO 27001, ITIL frameworks, MFA, patching, etc.)
Why Take This Role
Real ownership — not stuck in red tape or tiered service desks
Get things done — decisions are quick, and your input matters
Straight-talking environment — no corporate waffle, just solid IT
On-site in South Wales— ideal for someone local or willing to travel.
