TXM Recruit are supporting a business in the rail industry who are going through significant growth due to the mobilisation of overhaul projects, we are recruiting Heavy Maintenance Manager. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the successful mobilisation, deployment, and commercial delivery of our heavy maintenance projects.
What You Will Be Doing
- Develop effective internal and external working relationships that deliver all key elements of Heavy Maintenance contracts
- Ensure all work undertaken is in line with customer, technical and legislative standards and specifications
- Ensure all work undertaken is done so in a timely manner and a high standard, in line with customer expectations
- Establish safe systems of work in accordance with relevant customer, business or legislative standards
- Recruitment and development of appropriately skilled teams to deliver specific work packages
- Recruitment and development of Project Managers, Engineers and Planners to support projects
- Provision of regular management information and Key Performance Indicators that report of key project deliverables
- Undertake and complete annual Performance Development Reviews with direct reports, in a timely manner
- Support the bid team as required with input to support potential new work opportunities and contracts
- Lead the mobilization for new projects, including development of deliverables such as resource plans, work breakdown structures, tooling requirements, risk register, Bill of Material(s), Specification Review – all in accordance with company Heavy Maintenance Mobilization procedure
- Deliver and maintain excellent standards of housekeeping
- Manage customer interfaces including the leading of Contract Review Meetings
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including the development of LEAN techniques and processes
- Develop internal systems, processes, procedures and reporting mechanisms providing clear control
- Deliver pro-active customer management identifying and developing possible opportunities on maximizing revenues and cost savings

- Previous experience, involvement and understanding of rail vehicle maintenance activities
