Job Title: Regulatory Affairs Specialist, nutrition & food supplements

Job Type: Permanent position

Location: East Midlands, UK (Hybrid) – 3x a week on-site

With only being 5 years old, they have rapidly outgrown its start-up roots to become a key player in the British health and wellness sector.

The business is currently looking for a Regulatory Affairs Specialist to join the business and support Regulatory Affairs activities. This role requires a meticulous, proactive professional to navigate the complexities of regulatory compliance for food supplements in both the UK and EU. You will act as a bridge between regulatory frameworks and internal stakeholders.

The responsibilities will include:

  • Provide detailed regulatory guidance and technical support for internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and ensure timely updates to business practices.
  • Coordinate and manage product approvals (SIPS/MIPS) and schedule updates with the Soil Association, via email and the SA online portal.
  • Manage label creation, review, and updates, ensuring compliance with UK and EU regulations.
  • Coordinate translation projects for labelling and marketing materials.
  • Approve printer’s proofs and monitor artwork through the InMotion system.
  • Validate compliance of formulas in the UK and EU, label copy, and front-panel claims for new product launches.
  • Check claims against health and nutrition claims regulations and industry guidelines.
  • Oversee sales banners and front-panel compliance.
  • Provide technical advice on Products of Animal Origin (POAO) and composite goods.
  • Support import and export logistics by providing commodity codes.

Requirements

  • University degree in Law, Biomedical science, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years + of experience working in regulatory affairs within, foods, consumer health, nutrition, or something highly regulated.
  • Previous experience working within a regulatory role dedicated to nutrition/ food and beverage industry.
  • A strong communicator who is confident in driving strategies and working with senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience working/ interacting with the food standards agencies, trade associations or other relevant authorities.
  • Previous line management experience is highly desirable.

This role will require someone who can multi-task a number of projects at one time with minimal help from colleagues. The business is looking for someone with excellent communication, detail drive, a hard worker, and a motivated individual.

The role will require 3 days on-site per week however the business is able to be flexible for the right person.
